Interviews and Stars

Updated: 15 hours ago

Eric Llewellyn (Eagles)

1. 14-2 win over the hounds last night. What can you say about your teams overall play last night? Couple mistakes but for the most part we played a clean game. Were battling some injuries early here so guys were putting up big minutes and I thought we handled that just fine

2. You guys controlled the play from start to finish. Is it hard to lose focus when you have a comfortable lead or were you guys trying to build something for the rest of the season? I feel like we let up a little bit and they were able to get 2 goals but were always working on chemistry regardless of the score.

3. Clontz was brought in to replace Zach Foradori. How do you compare the 2? Well…Clontz scores 7 a game and Foradori scores 7 a season.

4. No Cody this season either. How do you think Zac Gray will do trying to fill his void? Zacs a really good hockey player. I have experience with him and we work really well together. I think hell fit in nicely.

5. What bold prediction can you make for the Steeler-Raven game? I hope they can keep it close and maybe get a chance to win at the end… but something tells me were gettin smoked.

Denny Stinchcomb (Walkers)

1. Rough way to start out the season last night. What do you think went wrong for you guys? Positional issues, no breakout and no offensive attack. I had several miscues so I need to be better.

2. What signs of encouragement did you see that can help going forward? Everyone was fairly positive for having just gotten spanked

3. What was your impression of the opponent? Any team willing to take a chance on Zach Foradori is impressive

4. You were a part of a championship team in Brockway this past summer. What was it like playing on that team ? Lots of fun on and off the court

5. Walkers appear to have its best roster since the team got put together a while back. What kind of expectations do you have going into the rest of the season? I expect Troy to add an element to our team that wasn't there on opening night

Brandon Reiter (Knights)

1. 9-6 win over the yeti last night. What can you say about the overall team effort in the win? The effort was great. I was really happy with how we played and was happy that I was able to contribute.

2. How did you feel physically after the game (considering you haven’t played since the xhl ended back in the spring)? I was a little concerned going in but I feel good. It was much needed to play again.

3. Last years championship was back and forth. Did you consider those games fun to play in or was it discouraging not winning it? I enjoy competitive games and the challenges associated with them. When you play for a long time you will likely experience a bit of everything, big wins and tough losses, and that’s part of competing.

4. Jason Stamler is taking Rooster’s place this year. How do you think he will fit in with the rest of you? I think he will fit in just fine. Last nights game proved that to me.

5. Hockey is still going all these years later. How long do you think you will be able/available to keep playing ? Hockey is one of my favorite things. I hope to play as long as I can. Having kids that are pursuing their own athletic interests means I miss some games here and there or can only play certain times of the year. The winter league is one that fits my schedule pretty nicely.

Brice Miller (Bear Claw)

1. 13-1 win over the walkers last night. What can you say about your teams overall performance last night?  We played well and some bounces went our way early

2. Were you surprised to dominate them like that considering they have a solid roster?  Yeah a little surprised I figured it would be tighter since we have a completely new group.

 3. 4 goals for yourself and Laken. What kind of team expectations do you have going into the rest of the season?  We’ll definitely win some games.

 4. Colonials next week and their roster isn’t as good as in years past. What kind of game are you expecting? Next week should be a good game. I think we have a good chance and itll come down to how much chemistry we built this week.

5. Steelers/Ravens ---- Got any predictions?  Steelers snap the streak and get it done.

 6. One more question ---- Zach Foradori was curious on what you guys thought of his stellar defense?   . He isnt known for too much other than chipping a goalie high glove from time to time. The defense wasn’t too bad but he had the benefit of some poor shots hitting his shin guards to make him look better. Breakout passes were subpar mediocre at best. He’ll be alright back there for now.

#3. Josh Clontz -------- Owes Jerred Amick a big favor for letting him borrow his jersey last night. 7 goals and 2 assists to help lead the Eagles to an opening night win over the hounds.

#2. Brice Miller ----- The walkers may regret trading him (all in fun). 4 goals in the Bear Claw's 13-1 win over the Walkers last night.

#1. Brandon Reiter ---- Where was he this summer? He will try to get the Knights back to their championship ways when spring arrives.

Honorable Mention ----- Laken Dodd scored 4 goals on her dad last night, No Andy, no problem as long as Noah Kline is in your lineup. Only Denny Stinchcomb prevented Kaden Coulter from earning a shutout last night.
